Changing the TRANCODE from PIC X(9) to PIC X(8).

Hi Folks.  I am in need of your assistance.  I am migrating an HIS 2006 WIP application to HIS 2010 and am encountering one very annoying error.  In the HIS 2006 version of the application, the TRANCODE variable is defined as PIC X(8), which is what is expected by the IMS program and thus runs correctly.  In the HIS 2010 version, however, the TRANCODE variable is being defined as PIC X(9).  This is causing the data region to be shifted by one position and consequently causing the IMS program to return errors. My question is: how can I modify the size of the TRANCODE variable generated in the Visual Studio project?  I can see it defined in the Host Data Definition tab of the TI MetaData client library in the Transaction Integrator Project, but I can not see where to adjust its size and my online searches have been fruitless.  Thoughts?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

P.S. This is happening on a patched BizTalk 2010/HIS instance (BizTalk CU6, Adapter Pack CU3, HIS CU9).

BUT IN THE OLD VERSION I SEE THE ICON OF SNABASE IN THE TRAY NEAR THE CLOCK
now IN WINDOWS 7 I DO NOT SEE THE ICON IN THE notification area

Windows defender

I have a project  to disable windows defender from all servers and computers.But to remove one by one impossible.

is there any solution in GPO or make a bat.file ?

Please help me and I need your advises.

HIS 2013 TI App.config

I am receiving the following message when I attempt to send a transaction via HIS 2013.

"HISMTBG0003 A call has been made with a user specified RemoteEnvironment name of ReEnv1 and no RemoteEnvironment with that name exists.  Ensure the RemoteEnvironment name specified in the client code has been defined using TIManager."

My TI generated App.config is as follows:

I get this message whether or not my remote environment - ReEnv1 - is the default or not.  I have tried overriding the remote environment in the ClientContext to no avail.

I'm not clear on how HIS even knows about my App.config since it is stored on disk, and I have to re-open it every time I want to edit it.    There would appear to be a disconnect between my application and HIS.

I am running HIS 2013/VS 2012 on Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64).

This cumulative update package for Microsoft Host Integration Server 2013 contains hotfixes for issues that were fixed after the release of Host Integration Server 2013.

Important This cumulative update package includes all the component packages. However, the cumulative update package updates only those features that are currently installed on the system.

HIS 2013 HISServerConfig.xml example location and unattended install question

Hello,

    I've never used the unattended part of the installer but wanted to give it a try.  The installation guide refers to an example in the support\unattended_installs folder.  I don't see that folder or file on the media I down loaded.  The guild also instructs to "save" the configuration during setup to create my own xml.  I didn't see a "save" but tried using an export during my test unattended install but that didn't work.  I would appreciate any help/information.

HIS 2013 installer "set automatic log on" not working

Hello,

   This was my first attempt at using this feature however when the server rebooted during the install, it did not automatically log back on (with my own credentials).  Is there something else that needs to be in place for this to work?

HIS 2009 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit

Greetings,

We are using HIS to connect to an IBM mainframe running on CICS. The transport protocol is LU6.2. The way that the design was done to connect to the mainframe is that, when  there is a need to get data from the mainframe, then, a connection (WinCPICStartup(), cminit(), cmallc() etc.... cmdeal()) is initiated.

Currently, we are using HIS2006 SP1 on Windows Server 2003 32-bit Operating System. The CPI-C application is working fine.

Now, we want to upgrade to HIS 2009 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit Operating System.

We would like to know if there is any handling on CPI-C calls to be done for 64-bit Operating System.

Any help/feedback is greatly appreciated.

Move from HIS 2010 to HIS 2013

We are in a process of upgrading our servers to Windows Server 2012.  This is done by installing new servers. We will install HIS 2013 on Windows 2012 Server . We have a lot of HIS 2010 objects (both WIP and HIP) which we want to move over. WIP objects are currently hosted as ASP.NET Worker process on HIS 2010. Is it possible to move these objects to HIS 2013 just using generated dll's from VS 2010/HIS 2010 ? I know that it is possible to upgrade 2010 to 2013, but we have installed an empty HIS 2013, and want to do a "move" from HIS 2010 and run 2010/2013 in parallel. I am also looking for docs how to "Connect" HIS 2013 to IIS using TICT to IIS as we did in TI in HIS 2010 when we deployed Objects hosted as ASP.NET Worker process.

1. How is Host Integration Server (2004) related to BizTalk?

2. We are having issues printing from a Host Integration Server (formatting).   Can someone point us to a company who can help us resolve this or are there software packages that help with this? We are aware of planetpress, but it is a very expensive solution

Any SDLC adapter support 64bit HIS?

We have few customer still using old SDLC adapter for HIS server. I know it should switch to IP-DLC but we are not able to change the back-end in the next few years. The microgate SDLC adapter requires 32bit HIS which limited the choice. Any one can recommend a SDLC adapter which can be supported by 64bit HIS server?

Hello all:

We're assisting a customer as they upgrade their client & server platforms to Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 respectively.  They'll be doing fresh OS installs on both client and server.  On their current (older) platforms they are running HIS 2009.   We'll be upgrading them to a newer, supported version of HIS on the new platforms.  From what I can tell, both HIS 2010 and HIS 2013 are supported on their new platforms.   Question: Which version of HIS would you recommend we use (i.e. 2010 or 2013) and why?

Host Integration Server 2013 Licensing

Hello All

Question about licensing. I understand HIS 2013 is licensed with BizTalk. However, I am trying to better understand how the bits should be purchased in accordance with the proposed architecture. For BizTalk, licensing is based upon the Architecture and associated cores, Std vs Ent. For HIS, I get the bits with the purchase of any version of BizTalk (Std, Ent, Branch, etc.). If I am planning on a fault tolerant, high available HIS infra (no BizTalk, just HIS), am I also concerned with HIS licensing per core? So, if 2 servers, 2 CPU's per server, 4 cores per CPU, equals 16 licenses? Or, can I scale HIS as needed, given a single BizTalk Branch license?

Can please help me in configuring IP-DLC link services and APPC/LU 6.2 protocol to connect to CICS system on mainframe?

Hi Stephen,

I am using HIS 2013 evaluation version to connect to IBM mainframe CICS system. I need  brief information on the steps to follow to configure APPC/LU 6.2 protocol and configure Local and Remote LU's.

I also need to know how to test it once i configure. later I need to write a .Net application using Transaction Integartor to connect to CICS system.

Please help me on understanding and configuration.

I am working on  POC to use HIS 2013/SNA to connect to our CICS regions instead of using SNA 4.0 over token ring.

I am following thro the following steps

1. Setup the link service to use TCP/IP

HIS 2013, Entity Framework to DB2 AS/400 iSeries, LINQ

Hello,

I need some help getting entity framework/linq to work to DB2. I am able to create the edmx file, choose the DB2 entity frame work provider, set up connection string, choose tables to add to model, etc. But upon running some LINQ against the model, there is an exception message that comes up if I look in the Visual Studio 'watch' (please see last screen shots). The message reads: 

Schema specified is not valid. Errors: 
Model2.ssdl(2,2) : error 0152: No Entity Framework provider found for the ADO.NET provider with invariant name 'Microsoft.HostIntegration.MsDb2Client'. Make sure the provider is registered in the 'entityFramework' section of the application config file. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=260882 for more information.


The link explains how to enter the entityFramework section of the application config file. But there is nothing specific for the HIS2013 DB2 Entity Framework Provider. How exactly should I enter it into the application config file? Will this solve my problem?

Our current setup is BizTalk 2010 enterprise with HIS 2009. And we are in process of installing HIS 2010.

query:

1.Will BizTalk 2010 enterprise with HIS 2010 setup support DB2 V10?

2. Is there any impact on BizTalk 2010 setup with respect toMainframe Z-OS version 1.13 upgrade
